The first and most important way to protect yourself is to closely monitor your account by verifying your transactions online every few days with Anywhere Access at www.gotexar.com
. If you are not set up for our online service, our member service can help set you up and show you how to access your account. It is very easy! If you don't have access to a computer, you need to verify your statements as soon as received.
Report any discrepancies immediately to TEXAR at 903-223-0000 or toll free 1-888-832-8937. You can also block a card online on our Anywhere Access website or on our Audio Response system at 903-832-2444 - 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
Another form of protection is NOT to use your debit card for Internet purchases. Credit cards or pre-paid cards are the better choice for these types of purchases, not a debit card that is tied directly to your account.
To further protect you, TEXAR has a fraud detection monitoring system in place to review transactions daily for any suspicious activity. If fraudulent activity is suspected, the system will attempt to contact you by phone to verify the transaction in question. If the attempt is unsuccessful, card usage is restricted until verification can be made.
Remember, if we contact you, we will never ask for your personal information such as Social Security number, account number, PIN#, password or CVV/CVC number (last 3 digits on back of card) over the phone or the Internet.
Card Blocking Online
- Sign on to Anywhere Access
- From the MAIN MENU, click on the Options tab
- From the Options tab, click on Debit Card
- Select the card you need to block. If you are not sure which card was stolen, block them all.
Card Blocking Through Audio Response
In order to utilize this service, you will need to know your complete debit card number. You may locate your number from within Anywhere Access account history.
If you have lost or had your TEXAR Debit Card stolen, you need to block your card as soon as possible to prevent any potential fraud on your account. Follow the procedures listed below to block your card 24 hours a day, 7 days a week using our Audio Response system.
To block your TEXAR Debit Card, please call our Audio Response System at 903.832.2444. Following the welcome message for Audio Response you will be prompted to enter the following:
- "For card services press 4"
- "To deactivate or to report a lost or stolen card press 2"
- "If you know the card number of the card you want to deactivate press 1, otherwise press 2"
- If you do not know the card number and select option 2, you will need to know your account number.
To unblock your card, please contact the Credit Union at 903.223.0000.
Debit Card Fraud
In effort to protect your account, our debit cards have a dedicated Fraud Center. When there is a question about a charge that occurs on your account, our fraud center may reach out to verify transactions with you.
The Fraud Center will try to contact you by a phone call, text message and/or email. The Fraud Center will give the information about a charge and ask if it is a charge you authorized.
The Fraud Center will NEVER ask for personal information such as: account number, social security number, or card number.
Please save these numbers in your phone as TEXAR Fraud Center so you will know to answer the phone. These are the ONLY numbers our Fraud Center use.
